What will happen in the “historical” zone during the Florennes International Airshow?.
It is historical and you will be able to grasp it... for real.
Military historians and lovers of military history come and discover the “Jean Offenberg” airbase from an angle that never before has been seen. In the “historical” zone you will be able to find on the left side the “Messerschmitt”-hangar (one of the last remnants of the German occupation), to admire reconstructions by 300 actors dressed in authentic military and civilian costumes in the center and to look at typical vehicles and thematic exhibitions on the right side. Come and submerge yourself in the particular atmosphere of the occupation of the airbase by the German night hunt and relive the liberation by the US troops and the arrival from the first USAAF (US Army Air Force) squadrons. We would like to point out the exceptional character of this historical reconstruction which will be a great opportunity for you to feel the overwhelming atmosphere of the occupation and the liberation.
